3) What equipment / resources to get started

We’ve developed a program to get you earning some money by getting you some fee paying clients.

Really there are only a few simple steps to starting a bookkeeping business and getting new clients!

Most bookkeepers just want a few clients for extra money and are not too interested in having a “business” as such – they average 3 or 4 clients around 20 hours per week

“Just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with the services that you have provided to me. I am very happy with the clients that you have provided to me and the arrangement we have in place. It has enabled me to expand my client base easily and without too much stress! Our association may have been in place for only a short time but I have found working with you a pleasure and have enjoyed the exchange of ideas and opinions.” – Ann-Marie, Brisbane

Yes, some want to go fulltime and build a business and hence then buy bookkeeping franchises. Here’s a handy book about getting started in your own bookkeeping business …

The book covers all the basics to help with you getting you clients.

We have bookkeepers who just want to get their foot on the ladder by getting a couple of clients.

Bookkeepers hate having to get clients – so are happy for us to source them. Once they get a couple of clients, they are then confident to get their own clients.

Before referring a bookkeeper we ascertain the skill levels of our bookkeeper. There’s certain information we need to ensure we refer the best bookkeeper to the client.

You may not feel confident, and don’t really know how much to charge. Have you ever wondered why it is that when you contact potential clients you often find yourself being “interviewed” by the clients, and having to send resumes etc, waste time in interviews and not necessarily get the contract?

We have never had that problem – we have an approach we take with potential clients that overcomes all of that. We overcome all objections etc in securing new clients – then tell the clients to expect to receive a phone call from one of our bookkeepers.

You’ll then meet the client, do the required work, and find yourself running a bookkeeping business!
